What schools need to know

What do schools need to know in preparation for a SHAE Project Presentation?

Most importantly the Project is fully funded in all Riverside County Schools there are no additional expenses. Schools get these presentations on a first come first serve basis. When dollars have been expended there are no more presentations for that calendar year. Presentations can be booked up to one year in advance by accessing www.theshaeproject.com click on the tab marked Contact/ Booking, Check for available dates and email Deb directly for booking confirmation.

  • Presentations generally last from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on grade level.
  • Deb will travel from class room to class room needing only the use of a dry erase board, eraser and markers in each room she visits.
  • Please provide a bell schedule with lunch and other break details as well as room numbers and teacher’s names.
  • Please provide helpful details such as parking restrictions, class room dynamics that could impact the session. i.e. Spanish only, Developmentally delayed, etc.
  • This is a speaker event. Please do not ask students to do other activities or take notes during the session, it is distracting for them and others.
  • Please do not share with students the exact nature of the visit telling the story ahead of time makes the presentation less effective.
  • Because of the personal nature of the program, on rare occasions schedules have to be changed, there are conditions out of my control that make it necessary to cancel. If this happens I will make arrangements to reschedule as soon as possible.
  • Some schools like to make a phone announcement or get a permission slip signed prior to my visit. Samples available.
  • If you are interested in a teacher parent information session after school, confirm with me when you schedule your dates and please notify parents at least one week in advance.
